Lesotho is a land-locked country totally surrounded by South Africa. Children are being orphaned at an alarming rate. HIV/AIDS is running rampant. For many, there is little hope. A new initiative is underway that involves twinning of schools, sponsorship of orphans in schools, in micro economic projects and the knitting of hats of hope. Each hat is to be different. Different patterns and colours are important so that each child who wears one will know that they are unique and that we are supporting him/her. Hats without ties are best.
Join in the fun. Start a hat knitting group. Ask your great aunt to do some knitting. Knit while you watch TV or the children's soccer games. ENJOY! The Children are beautiful. Their smiles are huge. Lets get them bigger!
